Daniel Womersley beat Peter Devlin 3-1 at the Maxi Lounge in Bristol to win the 2026 EPSB Open Series play-off and earn a paid Q School place.
The 34-year-old won through a field of the 16 top eligible cueists from the EPSB Open Series ranking list to secure his free place in the end-of-season event where he will be aiming to earn a World Snooker Tour (WST) tour card for the first time. It is the second time that Womersley has won the Open Series play-off, having also done so back in 2023.

A total of 456 players competed in the Open Series, including Womersley who won one of the 24 events staged – gaining the victory at the Oldham Snooker Academy back in October.
Womersley began the one-day competition with a statement victory over top seed and former professional Sean Maddocks, who was allowed to score just 37 points as he fell to a 3-0 defeat, before coming from behind to down Jack Bradford 3-1 with a top break of 85.
A further whitewash win followed for Womersley as he swept aside two-time Open Series order of merit winner Hamim Hussain 3-0 to set up a play-off final meeting with Devlin.

Devlin, who competed on the WST between 2020 and 2022, had come through an opening round decider against John Welsh and then dominantly defeated Jamie McArdle and Halim Hussain in consecutive 3-0 victories to reach the final.
The first two frames were shared, with Devlin restoring parity by compiling a break of 88 in frame two. Womersley restored his advantage in the third with a half-century before getting over the line in the next to win the play-off and earn his paid place at the 2026 Q School event in May.
