The second qualifying event of the 2026 English League Championship takes place this weekend (23-24 May) at the Landywood Snooker Club.

Now into its third year, the 2026 English League Championship sees a revamped format with teams of three (plus one reserve) competing for a minimum total prize fund of £3,000. Learn more about the new format.

Wednesfield, SWMBSA ‘B’, Leeds and Oxford Snooker League secured their place in next month’s finals weekend at the first qualifier in April and they will be joined by a minimum of four further teams from this weekend’s event.

TEAMS

A total of 13 teams will contest the second qualifier with the teams to be separated into two groups.

  • MASL Misfits (Neil Hoggarth, Mike Gillespie, Dan Eyles)

  • Leeds ADT 2 (Stephen Broadhead, Lee Brookes, Lewis Harper)
  • SWMBSA ‘A’ (Riley Parsons, Jack Harris, Daniel Ward, Tom Burgess)
  • Shifnal (Mick Brezwyn, Martin Cofey, Steve Powell, Jamie Harris)
  • Warmley (Gary Miller, John Pritchett, Stuart Watson, Martin Quinney)
  • Preston’s Elite (Jack Wilding, Jackson Pope, Anthony Wall, Connor Walsh)
  • Hull EY (Carl Gibson, Jamie Gibson, Josh Douglas, John Howard)
  • Balls of Fury (James Burrows, Matt Morgan, Jamie Dunlop)
  • Gloucester (Ben Wall, Danny Wright, Tom Price, Luke Newman)
  • Whitchurch Weapons (Mike Dorey, Michael Dubicki, Robert Dubicki, John Fallows)

FORMAT & INFORMATION

  • The club will open at 9:30am on Saturday, with play to start around 10:00am
  • The format and schedule is TBC by the Tournament Director
  • Teams will consist of three players, who will each play two frames per match. Teams can include a reserve player or non-playing captain
  • If a match finishes 3-3, it will be decided by a tie-breaker (best-of-3 respotted black, each team member to play one black If required)
  • A minimum of four teams will qualify for the finals weekend on 13-14 June.
  • The dress code for the qualifying events shall be a polo shirt, formal trousers and formal shoes.
