Davidson Does The Double At The Winchester

Home » Davidson Does The Double At The Winchester

Tessa Davidson won the first two events of the Cue Sports Yorkshire English Women’s Tour by defeating Sarah Dunn and Selina Dean in the finals on Saturday and Sunday.

The 57-year-old, who is a three-time UK Women’s champion, did not lose a frame in her eight matches across the weekend as she won the first two titles of the new campaign.

Returning for the 2026/27 season, the Cue Sports Yorkshire English Women’s Tour will feature six events across three weekends and the first two days of action took place at The Winchester Snooker Club in Leicester.

Ten players contested both events which began with a group phase before the stages determined the champion on each day.

Event one saw Davidson defeat Zeinab Shahi and Louise Jordan 2-0 in the group stages before overcoming Zoe Killington by the same scoreline to set up a title match meeting with Dunn, who had last beaten 14-year-old Tallulah Cousins in the semi-finals.

A top break of 34 helped Davidson to a 2-0 victory to earn the title on the opening day and whitewash wins against Rose Nicholson, Lesley Roberts and Dunn once more saw her advance to successive finals on Sunday.

This time her opponent was 49-year-old Dean, who had downed Shahi in the deciding frame of their semi-final. She proved no match for Davidson, however, as the event one winner rounded off the perfect weekend with another 2-0 win.

Maxi Lounge in Bristol will host events three and four of the Cue Sports Yorkshire English Women’s Tour on 14-15 November. Enter now via WPBSA SnookerScores.
