The English Under-16 Championship takes place at the Q Bar in Walsall this weekend (20-21 April).

An incredible field of 60 players, which is more than double last year’s entry number, will head to the Q Bar in Walsall this weekend to compete for the English Under-16 Championship title.

The event was last held in 2022, when it was won by current World Snooker Tour professional Stan Moody. Among those looking to follow in the footsteps of Moody this year are European Under-16 champion Vladislav Gradinari, recent English Under-14 champion Nicholas Ayers and O’Shay Scott – who will be looking to go one step further after a run to last weekend’s English Under-18 Championship final.

The format is as follows:

  • Group stage – Best of 3 Frames
  • First Knockout Round – Best of 5 Frames
  • Last 16 – Best of 5 Frames
  • Quarter-Finals – Best of 7 Frames
  • Semi-Finals – Best of 7 Frames
  • Final – Best of 9 Frames
Please Note: Play will commence at 9:30am on Saturday – please ensure you arrive and check in at the venue by 9:15am. Only players present at the club, that have checked in with the Tournament Director will be entered in to the draw for the group stages, which will take place just after the 9.15 am deadline.
