The English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB) has today announced that Matt Huart and Tessa Davidson have been co-opted to join its Board of Directors with immediate effect.
Both appointments follow a growth period for English snooker in recent years and aim to place the EPSB in the best position possible to continue the delivery of exciting opportunities for all players and officials within our sport.

Matt Huart joins the Board of Directors as Chief Executive Officer, having played a key role in leading its Operations Team since 2022. His appointment recognises the positive trajectory of the EPSB’s national competitions structure during that period, which has seen significant rises in total prize money and tournament entry numbers.
Tessa Davidson will join the Board as Player Director, replacing Joshua Cooper who has taken the decision to step down from the role after three-years.
A three-time World Women’s Snooker Seniors champion and multiple ranking event winner, Davidson brings a wealth of player experience to the EPSB Board, having first competed nationally in 1988.
Winner of the EPSB Winchester Women’s Open Series in 2024 and still competing to a high level on the World Women’s Snooker Tour as a top 8 ranked player, Davidson is also an active 1st4sport WPBSA Level 2 snooker coach and is committed to player representation at all levels of the sport.

Matt Huart said: “It is a great honour to be able to join the Board of the EPSB as Chief Executive Officer and I would like to thank the EPSB Board for their support.
“My close involvement with the restructure of our national competitions in recent years has provided me with valuable insight as to the needs of all stakeholders, including our fantastic officials, our host 147 Club venues and of course our playing members.
“I am hugely excited by the opportunity to further develop these opportunities, as well as to contribute positively to our wider sport development initiatives as the national governing body for snooker and English Billiards.”
Tessa Davidson said: “I am pleased to be able to join the EPSB Board as Player Director and to have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of our sport in England.
“I am hugely passionate about snooker, both in terms of my own playing career and helping others to enjoy our sport. Having competed at all levels during the past 40 years, whether in junior competitions or senior age groups, mixed gender or women’s, I have a clear understanding of the issues that are important to players and am ideally placed to help communicate these at Operations and Board level.
“I am keen to be able to make a difference and to help the EPSB to provide the best conditions for all to enjoy playing our sport and maximise their potential.”

Nigel Mawer QPM, EPSB Chairman said: “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both Matt and Tessa to the EPSB Board.
“Matt has proactively led the Operations Team for several years now and been instrumental to what has been a successful period for the organisation, both in terms of our national competition programme and our wider development projects.
“I am therefore pleased to be able to recognise this contribution with his appointment as Chief Executive Officer as we work to further build upon this progress.
“I am also excited that Tessa will join the team as Player Director. As an active player who has enjoyed a distinguished playing career, she brings a wealth of experience to our Boardroom that will help us to shape the continued development of our competition structure.
“Tessa is committed to providing player representation at Board level and to being able to play an active role in the development of our sport over the coming years.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing Player Director Joshua Cooper for his contribution during the past three years and to wish him every success for his future career.”
