Peter Lines defeated Hayden Staniland 4-0 at The Crucible Club in Reading to win the third English Amateur Tour event of the season.
The victory saw Lines continue an excellent campaign that has already featured a WPBSA Q Tour Europe success in Vienna, Austria earlier this season before glory in the English Seniors Tour event in November.

A total of 54 cueists embarked on the Berkshire venue for the two-day event and, for Lines, it began with a scare against Daniel Boyes as the 17-year-old led on three separate occasions before losing out in a deciding frame.
From there, Lines dropped just four further frames in five matches as he romped to the title in Reading.
A whitewash win over fellow Q Tour Europe event winner Simon Blackwell earned Lines a place in the final day, where he then downed Billy Castle (4-2), Ryan Davies (4-1) and Luke Pinches (4-1) to reach the title match.

Awaiting him was Staniland, who had earned a place in his maiden English Amateur Tour event final by beating Sean Maddocks, Halim Hussain and event one champion Matthew Glasby on the Sunday.
Lines was the dominant player in the final as the former professional conceded just 17 points en route to a comfortable 4-0 success to win the first English Amateur Tour title of his career.
