Provisional EPSB Calendar Announced for 2021/22 Season

Home » Provisional EPSB Calendar Announced for 2021/22 Season

As we enter Stage 2 of the government’s four-step roadmap out of lockdown in England, as part of our latest monthly update we can today announce our provisional dates for the completion of our outstanding 2019/20 competitions, as well as our full 2021/22 calendar of events.

2019/20

There are currently six outstanding competitions to be completed from the 2019/20 season following the suspension of the EPSB Tour in May 2020. These are the English Under 14, 16, 18 and 21 Championships, the Over-55s Championship and the Under-21 Premier Development Tour Playoffs.

The provisional dates for these events are:

  • 17-18 July
    • North Finals
    • South Finals
  • 24-25 July
    • Under-21 Play Offs
  • 31 July – 1 August
    • Finals Weekend

These dates remain subject to change and further information, including venues, event formats and the list of eligible players to compete at the Under-21 playoffs, will be confirmed within our May update.

2021/22

Our provisional calendar of events for the new 2021/22 EPSB season has now been added to our Tournaments page at WPBSA SnookerScores and our Calendar page at this website.

The season is set to begin with the first English Amateur Tour events on the weekend of 28-29 August, culminating in our Finals weekend in June 2022.

As well as the calendar itself, we can also confirm the following with regards to next season’s planned events:

Tour Events

These will continue to be run across a weekend, but for the 2021/22 season will comprise two events per weekend (i.e. one Saturday, one Sunday). These will be group stages only, with ranking points attributed to all placings.

This will enable us to limit the number of total playing weekends due to any possible COVID-19 restrictions, whilst maintaining a credible six event tour. Players will be able to enter both events over a weekend, or just one if preferred.

COVID-19 Restrictions

ALL events and venues are subject to change. As much notice will be given as is possible of any changes, however where COVID-19 restrictions change, this may be as little as 24 hours.

We advise that all players and parents/guardians should regularly check our website and social media channels, right up until the evening before an event.

ANY restrictions due to COVID-19 which will make a player unable to attend an event due to vaccine availability, vaccine restrictions or travel restrictions will be monitored on a daily basis. As far as is reasonably possible, we will endeavour to not take away the ability of any player to attend and compete at our events.

2021/22 EPSB Membership

Players competing in the July Finals events do not need to purchase a new membership to do so, as these events are included within their 2019/20 membership.

It is planned that memberships for the 2021/22 seasons will open in August 2021 and will be purchased through WPBSA SnookerScores, NOT the previous MemberZone system.

Further updates

Subject to any unexpected changes, we will continue to post updates on a monthly basis as we build up to our return to competition.

If you have any further questions, please contact us, either through this website or via our social media channels.

We all hope that you are looking forward to returning to the baize, with snooker facilities remaining on course to be permitted to open from 17 May 2021, as per our previous update.
