Robert Hall defeated Peter Sheehan 680-481 to win the 2025 English Billiards Championship at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds last weekend.
Last year’s World Billiards Championship runner-up came through a field of 22 cueists to win the national championship for a fourth successive occasion.
Hall dominated his initial group stage by securing a clean sweep of victories over Adam Clarke, Paul Robinson, Ian Dennis and Steven Hassack by an aggregate scoreline of 2,590-681.
As group winner, Hall advanced directly into Sunday’s quarter-finals where he overcame Craig Fitzpatrick and then followed this up with a dominant 1,079-188 win against Jonathan Marwood to reach the title match.
His opponent in the 150-minute final was Sheehan, who had beaten Clarke and Nathan Mann to reach this stage after topping his respective group.
Hall was a strong favourite heading into the contest and top breaks of 296, 229 and 216 helped him to victory by a winning margin of 199 points to regain the title.
