Oliver Sykes and Aidan Murphy have been awarded places at the 2025 BetVictor English Open after being nominated by the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB).
The event is part of the Home Nations series and takes place in Brentwood from 11-21 September with both Sykes and Murphy featuring among the field heading to Essex because of their achievements with the EPSB, in line with the WPBSA Talent Pathway Selection Criteria.
Sykes, aged 19, finished in first place on the English Junior Tour ranking list for a second consecutive campaign after winning two of the five events staged during the 2024/25 season. He also reached the final of the 2025 English Under-21 Championship, finishing as runner-up to current World Snooker Tour professional Liam Pullen.
Bristol’s Murphy was the runner-up on last season’s English Junior Tour ranking list and the 21-year-old picked up the title at the fifth and final event of the series.
