Three more teams have guaranteed their places in the finals weekend of the 2025 English League Snooker Championship following the second qualifying event at the Landywood Snooker Club last weekend.
The second of two qualifying events to be staged saw four teams competing for three automatic places following the late withdrawal of defending champions Whitchurch Legends and it was the teams of Telford, Walmley and ADT All Stars who guaranteed their spots at the the finals weekend on 28-29 June.
Current World Snooker Tour (WST) professional Mitchell Mann was among the 22 cueists who competed at the qualifier in Walsall and he represented a Walmley side who finished second in the final standings after each team faced each other on three occasions.
Also representing Walmley was John Pritchett, who was the weekend’s ‘MVP’ with eight frame wins to his name, and top break-builders Saqib Nasir and Faizaan Mohammed who compiled the high breaks of 140 and 119 in consecutive frames en route to a 5-0 victory over Hull MASL.
The weekend’s champions, however, were a Telford side represented by Tom Maxfield, Paul Harper, John Fallows, Mike Dorey, Paul Lloyd and Mike Dubicki as they picked up a total of 36 points from their nine matches.
The finals weekend of the English League Snooker Championship will take place at the Landywood Snooker Club on 28-29 June.
