Home » Pearce Wins English Over-55 Championship for the Second Time

Nick Pearce defeated Gary Miller 3-0 at the Maxi Lounge in Bristol to win the 2026 English Over-55 Championship.

Victory for the 59-year-old, who held professional status between 1992 and 2003, saw him become only the second player to win the Over-55 national title – after 2017 and 2019 champion John Rees.

A total of 29 players embarked on the South West for the two-day event and Pearce comfortably came through the group stage with a clean sweep of 2-0 victories over Lionel Payne, Mike Dorey and Dharmendra Patel.

Sunday saw Pearce seeded into the quarter-finals where he swept aside Mike Lucas 3-0 before firing in the tournament high break of 87 in the last four to overcome Karl Townsend 3-2.

The 2024 Over-55 national champion met Gary Miller in the title match after he had defeated John Leahy 3-1 in the semi-finals.

Breaks of 43 and 35 helped Pearce take the opening two frames to move within one of victory and he took the third by a 60-51 scoreline to secure the national championship title.
