English League Snooker Championship | Tournament Information

The English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB) is pleased to confirm the format for the inaugural EPSB English League Snooker Championship at the Landywood Snooker Club.

Unveiled in December, the groundbreaking new event sees snooker league teams from across the country competing for the prestigious crown and a total prize fund of over £3,500.

The 2024 championship will be held across three weekends at Landywood Snooker Club, with the first taking place this weekend (13-14 April) while the winners are set to be crowned at the end of the finals weekend in June.

Format

Two qualifying events will be held at the Landywood Snooker Club across the weekends of 13-14 April and 4-5 May.

The 18 entered teams will be split into three groups of six. The first qualifier will see one group of six contested, while the remaining two groups will be contested over the second weekend (draw to be made on the day) to complete the finals line-up.

Each team will play each other twice (‘home and away’) to ensure lots of competitive snooker across the weekends.

Eight teams will advance to the finals weekend, which will again be held at Landywood Snooker Club on 29-30 June.

On the opening day of the finals weekend, each team will be guaranteed seven matches to determine the seedings for Sunday’s knockout stages, to be begin with the quarter-finals.

Prize Fund

A total prize fund of £3,550 will be on offer with the winning team earning £1,000.

• High Break: £100
• Qualifiers MVP: £50

In addition to the above, free entry into the 2025 English Amateur Championship will be awarded to each member of the winning team, plus the player who makes the tournament high break and the ‘MVP’ from the qualifying stage.

Please note that the prize fund has been reduced from that originally advertised due to entry numbers.

The entire event will be hosted by the popular Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall.

Dress Code

The dress code for the event will be polo shirt, trousers and formal shoes.
