The EPSB has developed new guidelines to support the resumption of local league snooker in England from 1 August 2020.
Competitive snooker and billiards through local league activity plays a pivotal role both for sustaining our network of clubs and in benefiting the physical and mental health of individuals who participate.
Many leagues around the country will be keen to complete outstanding fixtures from last season or to prepare for the start of a new season. These guidelines detail how league participation can be implemented safely, in line with current UK Government guidance.
Affiliated snooker clubs in England will be permitted to host local league competitions, including visiting teams, provided the club can offer a COVID-19 secure environment and that all parties can safely adopt the guidelines contained in this document.
This guidance sets out measures to protect the health of everyone involved, covering four key areas:
- Club Preparation
- League Preparation
- League Format Adjustments
- Player Protocols
We recommend that affiliated clubs, local league committees and league players carefully read the guidance to understand how we can all play snooker and billiards safely, following measures to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 transmission.
These guidelines apply to England only, and have been produced to help leagues, clubs and players operate in line with the current UK Government guidance.
This latest document adds to our Covid-19 guidelines for clubs.
