Lines Leads The Way as Money Raised for The Brain Tumour Charity at English Amateur Tour Opener

Peter Lines scored the top break of 138 as 19 centuries were made at the first event of the new English Amateur Tour season – with each break raising money for the The Brain Tumour Charity, the first ever official charity partner of the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB).

Throughout the season, EPSB will be donating £5 to The Brain Tumour Charity for each century break compiled at their events (capped at £1,000).

The new campaign began last weekend with the first English Amateur Tour event at the Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall, where Sanderson Lam won through a record field of 99 cueists to lift the title.

A total of 19 century breaks were compiled across the weekend, raising £95 for the charity, as Lines made the top breaks of 138 and 135 while Hamim Hussain leads the total race with three contributions.

Announced in May, the partnership will see the EPSB provide support to The Brain Tumour Charity, which is committed to saving and improving lives.  The Charity is moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour, finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change.

The Brain Tumour Charity has been selected in memory of former England international player Graham Beardmore, who sadly passed away last July after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
