Breakers Snooker Club, Leicester

Qualifiers: Event Winner – Faiz Majid, Event Runner-Up – Oscar Newton

There was somewhat of an upset at Breakers as defending champion Shaun Liu was eliminated from the competition.

Both round robin groups at the event were tight; with just two players from each making it into the semi-finals, all three players in both were tied on two wins each.

Liu won his opening two matches but lost his third fixture to Oscar Newton. Tied with Newton and Faiz Majid, Liu then lost to Newton again in a playoff and was eliminated.

Majid (pictured above, left) and Newton (also pictured) then respectively defeated Alfie Moore (Group B winner) and George Chambers (Group B runner-up) 2-0 in the semi-finals to set up a final that Faiz won 2-1.

Hurricane Room, King’s Cross, London

Qualifiers: Event Winner – Rayan El Qmache, Event Runner-Up – Yousuf Matib

10-year-old Rayan El Qmache (pictured below, left) was the event winner at the Hurricane Room in King’s Cross, and he will be joined in Stage Two by 13-year-old Yousuf Matib (also pictured) who also reached the final.

In Group B, El Qmache and Matib were tied with Dany Lee on two wins each, but it was Lee who just missed out on the last four after a subsequent playoff.

El Qmache defeated Frankie Pizutto (Group A runner-up) 2-0 the semi-finals while Matib ousted Group A winner Dylan Denieffe 2-1. El Qmache then won the final, 2-1.

Salisbury Snooker Club

Qualifiers: Event Winner – Lennon Savage, Event Runner-Up – Dylan Beer

Lennon Savage triumphed at the Salisbury Snooker Club qualifying event as he defeated fellow qualifier Dylan Beer 2-1 in the final.

Savage and Beer were initially drawn in the same group. Beer topped the pool with a 100% record, including a victory against the eventual champion.

Both semi-final ties went all the way with Savage denying Tyler Beer (Group B winner) 2-1 and Dylan Beer shading Charlie Ings (Group B runner-up) 2-1.

The biggest breaks of the weekend were compiled at Salisbury with Ings setting the pace for the tournament’s highest break with a 63.

Other breaks included Savage making a 60, Tyler Beer a 44, and Liam Dean a 41.
