A revamped format for 2026 sees teams of three (plus one reserve) competing for a minimum total prize fund of £3,000.

Wednesfield, featuring former English Amateur champion Paul Deaville, Oliver Spooner, Andrew Price and Alan Hathaway completed a clean sweep of eight victories across the two days while Deaville also fired in the weekend’s top break of 95.

Table-topping Wednesfield, who dropped just ten frames across the weekend, will be joined by SWMBSA ‘B’, Leeds and Oxford Snooker League as well as further teams which will be confirmed following the second qualifying event on 23-24 May.

The SWMBSA ‘B’ team features Adrian Rosa, Raj Bashal and Bal Sembi – who hit the team’s high break of 78. All three featured among the victorious SWMBSA ‘A’ team that lifted the title in 2025 and they will once again be in contention for glory in June after winning six of their eight matches last weekend.

Five wins were enough for the Leeds trio of James Pears, Scott Clayforth and Isa Ishtiaq. The top four was completed by the Oxford Snooker League team, which featured John Massey, Tony Hicks and reigning World Women’s Seniors champion Tessa Davidson, who hit her team’s high break of 63 as they secured guaranteed qualification over Warrington Woolston on frame difference.
