EPSB Referees in Class at Q School

Home » EPSB Referees in Class at Q School

A total of six English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards amateur referees will put on the white gloves over the coming weeks having been selected by the World Snooker Tour to officiate at the 2021 Q School.

The annual amateur qualifying competition for promotion onto the professional circuit starts this Thursday and is taking place at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield. Nearly 200 players representing nations across the world are set to compete for 14 coveted two-year WST tour cards.

Whilst many of those competitors are EPSB player members, the Partnership’s contingent of referees will also be well represented in South Yorkshire. The six amateur EPSB referees scheduled to feature are:

  • Matt Ashton
  • Graham Mason
  • Peter Ogburn
  • Rod Eaton
  • Mark Beale
  • Steve Heath

The EPSB representatives make up three quarters of the ‘amateur’ referees’ quota, with Agneiska Berecka (Scotland) and Dave Periam (Wales) the other two non-regular WST officials also on show.

Everyone at the EPSB congratulates Matt, Graham, Peter, Rod, Mark and Steve, and wishes them well for the event.
