PowerGlide to Sponsor EPSB Junior Snooker Programmes

Home » PowerGlide to Sponsor EPSB Junior Snooker Programmes

The EPSB is today very excited to announce a sponsorship deal with PowerGlide cues to support junior snooker development.

The UK-based company will support the EPSB’s junior snooker summer holiday clubs programme and will become the title sponsor of our national Under-14 Championship.

PowerGlide cues, cases and accessories have already provided an excellent resource to the summer programme, with young players new to our sport receiving a cue through attending the summer club sessions, setting them up for regular participation in snooker and billiards. This provision will now be extended to grant EPSB access to PowerGlide products at a significantly reduced cost over the next two summers of the programme. Junior players will also be entitled to an exclusive 30% off any full-price PowerGlide products.

In addition, the EPSB’s tournament calendar will gain support with next season’s youngest age-group competition becoming the PowerGlide Under-14 Championship.

This exciting new deal adds further momentum to the national Under-14 competition, which was successfully relaunched during the 2019-20 season, seeing a rise in entries on the previous year from 33 to 119 players.

PowerGlide – through its parent company Unicorn Group – is proud to have been a leader in the design and manufacture of premium sports equipment for over 130 years.  Its mission is to help amateurs and top professional players achieve their personal best in sport.

PlayWithTheBest.com is the company’s official home for its famous brands, which also include specialist darts, cricket, basketball and other equipment.

Speaking about the sponsorship deal, PowerGlide Product Manager Kelly Vining said: “Here at PowerGlide we are delighted with our partnership with the EPSB, its competitions and the 147 Club!  We look forward to supporting the many talented junior summer club players.”

Bob Hill, Club Lead for the EPSB Operations Team, commented: “This is a significant deal for our junior snooker programmes, which recognises the work we’re doing to bring new players into our sport both through our club-based initiatives and our competition calendar.  We have established an excellent relationship with PowerGlide, whose cues have been highly regarded by the players and coaches involved in the EPSB junior summer clubs.  We are very pleased that PowerGlide has chosen to support these key programmes.”

Year two of the junior snooker summer clubs programme kicks off in July, while the conclusion of the 2019-20 competitions, postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will also take place this summer.

The EPSB runs a range of national tours and championships in a variety of age groups, all of which offer further sponsorship opportunities for organisations keen to connect their brand to junior snooker development.
